Some things are just better in twos, that's all there is to it. Such is the case with TWO NAOMIS, a middle-grade novel, in which two girls named Naomi, who live in the same city and are the same age, whose parents are dating, must learn how to forge their own identities and a new definition of family, even as they negotiate the preservation of their own very different routines and cultural traditions.
And even better? TWO NAOMIS is being written by two authors! Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich (EIGHTH-GRADE SUPERZERO) and Audrey Vernick (WATER BALLOON) have teamed up to bring these two voices to readers. You know how I love that full-circle feeling, right? This is definitely one of those moments, as I met Gbemi and Audrey at the same writing conference and signed them around the same time. (Thanks, New Jersey SCBWI!)
The lovely Kristin Rens at the Balzer + Bray imprint at HarperCollins did the deal. Congratulations, Gbemi and Audrey!
