"A joyful thing to behold. Set in Victorian England, this mystery gleefully overturns sexist norms and celebrates independent women of intellect, with Myrtle Hardcastle leading the charge."

"Humor and wit make the narrative sparkle, and, happily, Myrtle is as irrepressible as ever.”
"An important, positive conservation message, and a perfect nonfiction addition to preschool story time or a beginning informational picture book collection." - SLJ, starred review
How do you know when you are not facing an ordinary pancake?
When it is a SUPER PANCAKE!
Friends, you may think you have seen and heard the last word in superhero breakfast foods, but—I am not-so-sorry to say—on this matter you would be wrong. As a way of proving this to you once and for all, here is the recent deal listing from Publishers Weekly:
Rotem Moscovich at Knopf BFYR has acquired Megan Wagner Lloyd's Super Pancake and its sequel, Super Pancake and the Mini Muffin Mayhem, to be illustrated by Abhi Alwar. This punny graphic novel chapter book series follows Peggy, a pancake, who develops superhero abilities and must defend herself and her friends from the evil Dr. Breakfast Sandwich and his Henchtoasts. Publication is scheduled for Spring 2023 and Spring 2024, respectively. Ammi-Joan Paquette of Erin Murphy Literary Agency negotiated world rights for the author, and Brianne Johnson of Writers House for the illustrator.
Three cheers for Super Pancake and friends! And may syrupy goodness triumph always.
